Read the news much? Well it seems that Nestlé are in it quite a lot these days and not for the best reasons. Armed with a healthy amount of skepticism, this turned out to be one of the most inspiring projects I’ve undertaken.
Nestlé approached the agency to use KITKAT’s global popularity to create content for environmentally aware millennials. They wanted to show how their Nestlé Cocoa Plan was working side-by-side with NGO’s, like Fair Trade, to support rural cocoa farmers in developing nations.
I decided to teamed up with carefully selected partners to create as much buzz around our film as possible. This included international footballer Didier Drogba whose own foundation does a lot in the Ivory Coast. I also really pushed to get YouTuber, Louis Cole from Fun For Louis involved. I wanted our viewers to be walked through a journey with someone who they could trust and represented their point-of-view. I also knew that with no supporting media, we needed partners with established audiences.
The result is the film you see above, created as an entertaining, easy access point for the target audience.
Three additional films support the campaign providing a more in-depth look into the NCP. These were aimed at the more environmentally aware and those skeptical about Nestlé’s sustainability credentials. (See Below)
